Information reaching Q95 news indicate that there may be severe flooding at the Douglas- Charles Airport. Images show the Melville Hall river has breached its bank and is now flooding sections of roadway in front of the facility. In August last 2015, Tropical Storm Erika dealt a severe blow to the airport, damaging sections of the runway and equipment. A massive clean-up effort to remove debris from the tarmac and terminal building was quickly deployed to get the airport back into operation. Meanwhile persons in areas prone to flooding, landslides and falling rocks are being advised by the Dominica Met Service to continue to exercise caution, due to the presence of a trough system which will continue to produce occasional cloudiness and scattered showers across parts of the island chain, during the next 24 hours.
