Minister Blackmoore says government is working to bring displaced residents lives back to normal1/5/2016 National Security Minister, Rayburn Blackmoore is assuring those displaced by the passage of ‘Erika’ that government is working to have their lives return to normal.
On August 27, 2015, Dominica suffered the brunt of Tropical Storm Erika which left over 600 displaced.Blackmoore also told his constituents who were affected by the storm, that he will not rest until all their needs are met. Clip: Blackmoore made these remarks in his end of year address... Meantime, Minister Blackmoore, says his ministry will work to maintain a culture of peace in 2016. In his end of year message, Blackmoore said while he has seen improvements in police presence. he hopes to see such efforts strengthened. Clip: Blackmoore says the concept of community policing, which speaks to building alliances with various communities and the Police Force, is essential going into the New Year.He says while it is important to engage the public, which plays a very critical role in helping the police to execute its mandate, there has to be an element of trust.
