Health and Family Life Education Teachers have been granted a refresher workshop by the Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development. HFLE is a course offered in every school which equips students with skills including time management, stress management, ethics, and even confidence building, all of which are valuable to leading a successful life. Speaking at the opening ceremony earlier today, HFLE Education officer Mrs Renna Jno-Charles stated that every teacher must be prepared to deliver the required content therefore the workshop is aimed at increasing teacher’s versatility in the classroom. Meanwhile, Assistant Chief Education officer Dr. Jeffrey Blaize, has called on HFLE Teachers to teach their students to be leaders in their communities.
Speaking at the workshops opening ceremony, Blaize claims there is a lack of anger management in society which has trickled down into the schools therefore by teaching these skills in the classroom, the students will be able to lead by example in their communities.
