The Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Caribbean Breweries Association has launched the second phase of the "Ask, Listen, Learn" Program in Dominica. Ask, Listen, Learn was developed by the foundation for advancing alcohol responsibility to eliminate drunk driving and underage drinking and to promote responsible decision making regarding the consumption of alcohol beverages. The first phase of the program was piloted in 4 primary schools; the Sineku, Salybia, Grandbay and Goodwill Primary schools where it was concluded underage drinking and lifestyle development were critical areas in Dominica which needed intervention and support initiatives. Over 500 students and 27 teachers participated in phase 1 of the program. Marcella Powell is Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education. Dominica is the first country in Caricom where the program was piloted. The workshop is being facilitated by Latisha Bahr and will run for 8 weeks.
