Miracle Mission Agreement signed to commence free eye surgery to less fortunate Dominicans1/28/2016 An agreement to commence free eye surgery and optimal care to the less fortunate in Dominica was officially signed Wednesday. Miracle Mission – the world famous eye care program, an initiative carried out by ALBA will soon get underway following the signing agreement between health minister Dr Kenneth Darroux and the Ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to Dominica His Excellency Hayden Perela-Sanchez. Dr Darroux says the aim of the program is not to interfere with the program that is currently under the way in Dominica, but rather to enhance what is already there. Meantime, Dr Darroux says the ministry will undergo a massive screening program in the upcoming months to identify persons who are most in need. A miracle mission is a humanitarian social program that was created within the framework of the Sadino commitment between the governments of Venezuela and Cuba with the aim of providing eye care to huge numbers of people suffering from eye health problems and for socio-economic reasons have no access to those medical treatments.
