Miss Dominica 2016, Tasia Floissac, placed 1st Runner-up in ‘Ms Carival’ in St Vincent on Friday July 1, 2016

Miss Dominica 2016, Tasia Floissac placed 1st Runner-up in the Ms Carival Pageant in St Vincent & the Grenadines on Friday 1st July 2016. Ms Trinidad & Tobago’s Djennicia Francis won the competition. Francis was crowned by Miss Carival 2015, DeYonte Myers of St Vincent & the Grenadines. The ten contestants were judged based on swimwear, talent evening wear and interview.
 
Tasia sang the very popular ‘I am Titanium’ song of French DJ and music producer David Guetta, and won the award for ‘best talent’. Ms Trinidad & Tobago Djennicia Francis won the awards for Miss Congeniality, Most Community Spirited, Cooperation Award, and Best Interview. Tasia and her chaperone Leandra Lander are expected to return home to Dominica, on Saturday 2nd July 2016.
 
Tasia posted on her Facebook page after the show, saying, participating in the show “was a uniquely enlightening, fun and exhilarating experience that I will never forget. In the first one of my regional pageants, I emerged First Runner Up, and I feel extremely proud of myself for also having received the Best Talent award. My Team is simply amazing. We are Titanium, and we can only get better. Thanking all those who supported with prayers and kind messages, and a special thank you to the viewing party that was held in my honor at the Convent High School Auditorium. Dominica, you make this journey worth the while.”
 
Nikianna Williams of St Vincent & the Grenadines placed 2nd Runner-up and also copped awards for most Photogenic, Best Swimwear, and Best Evening Wear. The other seven competitors were Chelsey Hughes of Anguilla, Sheryl Forde of Barbados, Nyanka Samuel Robinson of Grenada, Tabeanna Tuitt of Montserrat, Orngel Erskine of St Kitts & Nevis, Yuana David of St Lucia, and Michelle Sinmues of Venezuela.
