National Security Minister confirms three men charged with attempted murder of Police Officer Jules
National Security Minister Rayburn Blackmoore has confirmed that three men have been formally charged with the attempted murder of Police Officer Wilberton Jules.
On Carnival Monday Jules was severely beaten on Church Street in Roseau by several men inflicting numerous serious injuries to the upper body and head of the Constable of Police with a hammer and a rock weighing over 15lbs.
Blackmoore told members of the media Thursday that he strongly condemns any attack on police officers and they will not be tolerated.
Meantime, the Minister commended the police force for their heightened presence during the Carnival celebrations.
He says such acts of violence against police officers and members of the public will not define Dominica.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit is also commending the Dominica Police Force for what he says was a plan well executed during the Carnival season.
Police say despite a few serious incidents; the Carnival celebrations were otherwise peaceful.
