The National Youth Council (NYC) of Dominica has sets its sight on establishing a ‘Youth Enterprise’ to be managed by it, in its work plan for the next two years. This was revealed by its First Vice President, Sharla Gabriel, at the Inauguration Ceremony of the NYC Executive, which held earlier this week.
Ms Gabriel said “We want to establish a youth enterprise managed by the National Youth Council of Dominica. We want to do so to increase our resource base, but that is not the only reason. We also want to establish this enterprise so that we can make employment available for the young people. We want to get them back in the business of agriculture, and this enterprise will be based on agriculture.” She also presented the NYC’s work plan for the next two years, saying “We have prepared our working documents which will guide the council over the rest of the term, including the Executive Agenda, the Institutional Strengthening Strategy, and the work plan for 2015 to 2017.
