NCCU selects top 10 Cadence-Lypso competitors from 29 auditioned on Saturday August 27, 2016

​The NCCU has selected its top ten Cadence-Lypso competitors from the 29 who auditioned on Saturday August 27th 2016.
 
The competition is carded for Wednesday 2nd November 2016 from 8.30 pm, at the Pottersville Savannah. The Grand prize is an attractive EC $10,000 (in cash & prizes), second prize EC $5,000 (in cash and prizes) and third prize of $3,000 (in cash & prizes). Other finalists will each receive a participation prize of $1,500.
 
Here are the ten finalists for the Cadence-Lypso competition:  John “Mauzzers” Mark –  Festival Cadence; Dexter “Deros” Peltier –  Pou Koko; Christopher “Chris B” Sylvester –  Fami; Jerd Dorsette –  Romancin Cadence; Delma Daniel –  Karma; Val Cuffy –  It Takes All Kinds; Charles “Clarce” Leatham –  Doh Take Man on Me; Jude “JayDee” Delauney –  Lang Mama’w; Murphy “Sye” Jno Jules –  Bor Garfield; and Kelly “Ras Kelly” Williams –  Gone Again.
 
Five bands will be competing for the title of ‘Champ of the Cadence Bands’ this year. The winning band will receive $10,000; second prize winner gets $5000; third prize winner will receive $3,000; and the other bands will receive $2,500 each. ‘White Fairy’ won the competition in 2015.
