Former PM of Dominica, Roosevelt Douglas, was said to have laid down the foundation for the success of the current DLP administration. That's the view of Dominica's Trade, Energy & Employment Minister Ian Douglas, who is the nephew of the deceased Roosevelt Douglas. Saturday October 1, 2016 marked the 16th anniversary since the death of Former PM Roosevelt Douglas. After only 8 months in office Douglas was found on 1st October 2000 dead at his home in Portsmouth. Pierre Charles was named as his successor and he took oath soon later. But he followed his predecessor's footsteps and died in office on January 2004, paving the way for Roosevelt Skerrit to assume the position as PM of Dominica. Ian Douglas says the DLP lost 2 great leaders in one term. He says the party went from strength of strength based on the foundation which was set by Roosie.
