New Village Council Chairman Yoland John Jules wants Vieille Case residents to build new relations and go forward together in building their community in 2017.
At the 27th Inaugural meeting of the incoming Council held on 9th January, he outlined some of the plans that are set to be implemented in 2017, and placed emphasis on local area economic development, community tourism, capacity building and training. John Jules included the establishment of short term rentals and cottage resorts, in the list of potential local developments. He also spoke of revamping farming in Vieille Case among other things, as one of the priorities set under the category of local economic development in the community. Plans also include a number of short courses aimed at capacity building and training, for small business development. John Jules also promised that the council will work towards the betterment of the community. Meanwhile, Vieille Case MP Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit spoke about a proposal for a “state of the Art Resource Center” in the course of the Inaugural Meeting.
