NGO Coalition for Protection of Children & Youth seeks more partners to fight Gender Based Violence1/26/2017 The NGO Coalition for the Protection of Children and Youth is inviting the public to join the fight and stamp out Gender Based Violence. With this in mind, the group has scheduled a town hall meeting at the Castle Bruce Primary School, for Sunday 29th January 2017, from 3 to 5pm.
That meeting will be hosted by the Girl Guides, and will be led by the NGO Coalition for the Protection of Children and Youth. This is the first event in their "Stamp Out Gender Based Violence" Campaign, where the seventeen organizations which make up the Coalition, are heading to various districts across Dominica, to explain the meaning of an amendment to the Sexual Offences Act, which was passed in Parliament in 2016. A Panel of Advocates from the NGO Coalition is expected to be present, to answer questions posed from the Guides. This event is also supported by the Bureau of Gender Affairs. The members of the Coalition are all registered organizations that are pledged to implement mandatory reporting of child abuse, and to promote ethical behaviour within their own organizations, and in Dominica as a whole.
