Managing Director of Nature Island Paper Products (NIPP) Inc, Severin McKenzie, is confident that within the next five years the Nature Island People's Paper Company (NIPPCO), will become the next DCP. The Dominica Coconut Products, (DCP), shut down its operations in November 2015, after being dealt a severe blow following the passage of TS Erika in August 2015. In its heyday, the company exported millions of dollars of its products including its "Refresh Soap". McKenzie says it is hoped that the new company will in the next couple years be on the path to fill the void that the closure of DCP has created. Following its decision to place the assets of the company for sale on the open market, the directors of NIPP Inc decided to give Dominicans the chance to own the paper products company by allowing them the opportunity to invest in it. The new company is now called the Nature Island People's Paper Company (NIPPCO).
