Opposition Leader Lennox Linton explains why he walked-out of an interview on state owned DBS Radio8/16/2016 Opposition Leader Lennox Linton has addressed the issue of his walk-out on an interview with host of DBS Radio’s Talking Point and DLP Government Press Secretary, Kamala Jno-Baptiste Aaron.
The interview attracted criticism from regional radio experts who described the discussion as animated exchange, rather than an interview. Many of them deemed it to be inappropriate for a Government Press Secretary to interview the ‘Leader of the Opposition’. Linton explained that he was asked by management of State owned DBS Radio to attend an interview to discuss the recent national budget. However, he says the host of the show insisted on directing her questions to political matters, but he constrained himself and answered all questions put to him. However, he says he took issue with the brewing quarrel over the fact that the host Kamala Jno-Baptiste Aaron would not adhere to protocol, and was reluctant to allow him to discuss the budget, which he had been specifically invited to discuss; but instead, she attempted to “correct” his views, and injected her own personal views and opinions into the discussion, which resulted in him choosing to abort the interview. Here is Linton in his own words
