Pile up of garbage near two schools in Roseau raises concerns among residents in the capital city
A pile up of garbage next to two schools in Roseau, is raising concerns among residents in the capital.
The garbage on the street was apparently left after Community Day of Service last Friday, and by Tuesday morning, it remained uncollected. A concerned resident said the garbage is a huge eyesore for everyone.
To make matter worse, a cruise ship made an inaugural visit to Dominica on Monday and knowing this, the concerned resident said he made numerous calls to have the garbage collected, but it was to no avail.
He said tourists were seen taking photos of the garbage on Monday. “It is sickening,” the resident said. Q95 made a report to the Solid Waste Management Authority, so as to get a comment on the matter.
