Plans progressing on state of the art hospital says Minister Darroux

Health Minister, Dr. Kenneth Darroux, says plans for the new State of the Art Hospital are progressing well.
Darroux says their Chinese counterparts have made adjustments to the original designs and the Ministry is satisfied with this final phasing option and designs presented.
He says once these new designs are signed off on work will commence on this new national hospital.

The talk of a new hospital  has been on the lips of Government officials for quite some time now.
In 2010, then Health Minister Julius Timothy announced that the groundbreaking would take place soon.
Then in 2012, he announced plans to revamp the existing Princess Margaret Hospital with hopes of a "relatively new hospital" by 2013 but those plans fell flat.
Later in 2015,Health Minister Dr. Kenneth Darroux announced plans for the new hospital once more but indicate that  a location for the facility had not been determined.
It was subsequently revealed that the facility will be constructed in Goodwill. In May 2015, Skerrit said groundbreaking would be held in July 2015.In November 2015, Skerrit said everything is now settled between Dominica and China and the groundbreaking would be held in the first quarter of 2016.
