Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit has called on members of the United Workers Party to move a motion for a vote of no confidence in the leadership of Opposition Leader, Lennox Linton. Speaking on a radio program recently, Skerrit says this suggestion follows the lack of leadership qualities displayed by Linton. The most recent scenario outlined by PM Skerrit is a proposal he says was made to Linton for 15 petro casas to be constructed at Melville Hall to which he says no action or interest has been shown by Mr. Linton. Efforts made to obtain a response from Opposition Leader Lennox Linton proved futile.
Earlier this year, Roseau Central MP, Joseph Issac called for a vote of no confidence to be tabled in Parliament against Prime Minister Skerrit. This followed statements made by PM Skerrit accusing UWP members of treason, and calling on DLP supporters to call them traitors wherever they are seen in public.
