A shooting incident left one man dead in Grand Bay on Sunday 24th January 2016. “It is being alleged that Craig Thomas trespassed on the private property of a serving member of the Dominica Police Force, who resides in Grand Bay, and started damaging a motor vehicle owned by that Police officer,” Jno Baptiste said. “The officer then came out of his house, armed with his firearm and was attacked allegedly by Thomas who was armed with a knife.”
Reports allege that Craig Thomas, of Highland in Grand Bay was shot while attacking the police officer. According to reports from Police Public Relations Officer (PRO) Sergeant Pelham Jno Baptiste, Mr. Thomas received a bullet wound during the incident, which occurred at about 11:15 am on Sunday.
