Police say there is nothing new in the investigations into a recent attack on a man named Andy Carbon, in Roseau.
Carbon was reportedly burnt with hot water outside a restaurant and word has been out and about and on Social Media, that a person had been arrested in the matter. Yesterday Thursday morning however, the police informed that the status in the investigation remains the same as previously reported. Last week the police had only said they had a suspect in the matter, while investigations continued. A source has however informed Q95 that one person was arrested with respect to the matter, and is expected to appear in court on Friday. Meanwhile, Dominicans have been expressing outrage at the manner in which the less fortunate are being treated. Roseau Central MP Joseph Isaac has called on the police to “aggressively investigate and prosecute whoever committed the act.” And Justice Minister Rayburne Blackmore said he condemns the manner that vagrants are being treated.
