Prime Minister urges British Government to keep relationship between Dominica and the UK in place6/2/2016 Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit urges the British Government to keep the relationship between Dominica and the United Kingdom in place as long as possible. In a meeting yesterday with Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for International Development in the British Government Baroness Sandip Verma, Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit stated that he believes that the relationship between Dominica and the United Kingdom is very solid and the government is always prepared to work with the British Government on bilateral, multilateral issues. The Prime Minister said the assistance we've received from the British Government has enhanced Dominica's ability in so far as security is concerned, tenfold and urged the British Government to keep the arrangement in place as long as possible. Meanwhile, Baroness Sandip Verma, told PM Skerrit that the British Prime Minister was very interested to re-engage the relationship between Britain and the Caribbean.
She stated that while the Prime Minister may have his vision for the economic development of the country, Britain has a vision for aiding and supporting that vision.
