Promised Direct Charter flights from Ft. Lauderdale to Dominica several times per week, are allegedly not going according to plan. The services were scheduled to begin June 2, 2016, but this has not materialized to date. The service is said to have been planned between Island Fun Tours, a tour company in Dominica, and RVR Aviation (Carrier) and Resort Air Services (DOT 380), which has been described as a “leading Jet Charter company from Fort Worth, Texas.”
A test flight of the service reportedly landed in Dominica on Friday, May 6, 2016. Efforts to get some clarification from the promoters concerned Has not born any fruit to date. A visit to Island Fun Tours website shows a page advertising the service with a “Book Now” button but that button is not active. It appears that things were not in place for the June 2nd date that was promised for the start of the service. In late 2013, a company that called itself Caribbean Island Transport, or CIT Airways, promised nonstop flights from Florida to Dominica by January 2014. However, that service never came to fruition, and the company does not appear to exist any longer.
