Public Service Day 2016 was officially launched today at the Fort Young Hotel under the theme, “Embracing the Challenge: Rethink, Rebuild, Transform.” Chief Personnel Officer, Gloria Joseph, states that celebrated bi-annually since 1999, Public Service Day is set to highlight the work of public officers in the development of the country. She says the event is to promote comradeship among public servants and to recognize the contributions of retired officers in the development in the public service. Activities scheduled for the celebration of Public Service Day 2016 include educational discussions, community outreach activities, health walks, hikes, a talent night, a sports day, craft exhibition and a church service. The celebration will climax with the Awards and Recognition Ceremony scheduled for December 2, 2016, where public officers will be rewarded for outstanding performance and retirees recognized for services rendered to the Country.
