Q95 Global View On Q host Sheridan Gregoire argues that it is of critical importance to account for money spent on political campaigns prior to elections, & not after the campaign period to avoid bribery & cheating. Mr Gregoire is of the view that it should be unacceptable for individuals or parties to spend $50 million prior to the campaign period before the date of the election is made public by the incumbent, and when the election date is announced, as is done customarily the case, other political contenders are instructed to spend whatever they have within a 21-day time frame to election day. He insists that the 50 or 70 million dollars that may have been spent prior to the campaign reporting period has to be subject to severe punishments under the new electoral and campaign finance laws. He contends that it is more important to account for the money you spent on the campaign trail before the election than the money you spent afterward. Gregoire also contends that Dominica is not yet ready to supervise and control any electronic voting from overseas. Host of the Global View, Sheridan Gregoire
