District Medical Officer in the Roseau Health District, Fevrier Drigo, gave some critical information regarding the symptoms of the Zika virus, on Q95’s Hot Seat show on the 26th January, 2016. Drigo says, based on recent surveys, one in five persons show symptoms of the Zika Virus, and persons who have the symptoms of the virus experience, high fever, rash, muscle pain, joint pain, and red eye.
She also added that there is an incubatory period in which the virus multiplies. The Zika virus does not manifest itself immediately, it may take up to 12 days before any symptoms are felt, after being bitten by the transmitting mosquito.
