Roseau South MP believes DLP Government created murky, fertile, conditions for breeding corruption1/26/2017 Economist & Roseau South MP Joshua Francis, believes the DLP Government has created murky, fertile, conditions that will likely breed corruption. Francis says the recent arrest of Alireza Monfared, one of Dominica’s Diplomats, and Chairman of an entity called ‘My Dominica Trade House’, is not surprising. Francis was speaking about the Government’s Citizenship By Investment Program (CBI) program today Wednesday; he finds the Government is too dependent on the CBI Program, as the main economic driver for Dominica’s development. The Roseau South MP added that the Government appoints diplomats without informing the Dominican public. He referenced the refusal of the DLP Government to disclose the names of Dominica’s Diplomats, in response to a question posed by the opposition at a recent House of Assembly meeting. Francis stressed that the Dominican people are not unreasonable, for wanting transparency on matters such as the sale of their passports via the Citizenship by Investment program.
