Salisbury MP Disturbed by alleged abandonment of posts by police immediately after Hurricane Maria10/31/2017 MP for the Salisbury Constituency Hector John has raised the issue of unmanned police stations following the passage of Hurricane Maria. John says the day after the hurricane no protocol was established by the Leadership of the Dominica Police Force to care for its own officers. The MP alleges that due to absence of adequate arrangements to provide immediate assistance to police officers, they were forced to leave their stations unmanned, and fend for themselves. Meanwhile, John wants the Dominica association of Industry & Commerce (DAIC) to issue a statement on the failure of the Dominica Police Force to protect business properties from looting, following Hurricane Maria.
John says the business community should be properly represented by the body, as business owners have suffered tremendously, due to the wide scale looting which occurred for days after Hurricane Maria.
