Many here are calling for a change in the management structure at the Island's main hospital.
Numerous complaints have been made of the extended periods of time patients are forced to wait for medical attention particularly at the Casualty department. Further complaints have also been made of the attitudes of the health care providers. Salisbury MP, Hector John, weighed in on the matter on Q95's Hotseat Thursday. He says this matter of inadequate staffing at the Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH) will be further compounded as more nurses are tendering their resignation to take up jobs out of state. He says while many complain of the attitudes of the nurses, their working conditions need to be improved. However, John believes only the establishment of a proper management structure will remedy the situation.
