Meanwhile, Samuel Pacquette of Grand Bay has been charged with shooting with intent, in a case involving a Guyanese National.
Police Public Relations Office Pelham Jno Baptiste reported on Thursday 1st September 2016, that “It is alleged that about 10:20am on August 30, 2016 at Bioche, Neville Stand Johnson, a male adult native of Guyana, sustained a gunshot wound to his right knee”. Johnson was transported to the Reginald Fitzgerald Armour Hospital in Portsmouth, by the Fire and Ambulance Service, where he received medical attention. He was subsequently transferred to the Accident & Emergency Department of the Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH), where he was examined by a medical doctor and admitted. Jno Baptiste reported that “As a result, Samuel Pacquette of Grand Bay, who is the holder of a firearm users license was arrested and charged with shooting with intent. A .38 pistol was recovered”. Pacquette was taken before the Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday 31st August 2016, where the charge was read to him and he was granted bail.
