Showdown Mas Camp brings curtains down with the famous Champ of the Camp competition tonight

The curtains will come down on the Showdown Mas Camp tonight as organizers hold the final event dubbed 'Champ of the Camp; Red Carpet Affair'. This year, the camp, which took on a new twist under a new management, featured artists such as Kevin Little, Mighty Gabby and King Short Shirt.
 
After four weeks of entertaining the crowd, tonight some 16 calypsonians will put on their game face as they compete for the coveted title. Dr. Valda Henry, is Manager of the Mas Camp. 

Meanwhile, just like the Stardom Tent, Executives of the Showdown Mas Camp say calypsonians of their tent are not allowed to compete at other tents.
Manager of the Mas Camp, Dr. Valda Henry, says Mas Camp calypsonians can perform as guest performers at other tents however, they prefer if that exchange happens at the executive level.
This follows a decision of the Executive of the Stardom Calypso Tent to ban calypsonians Abel 'Checko' Jno Baptiste and Murphy 'Sye' Jno Jules from performing at its tents.
According to officials of the Stardom Tent, the calypsonians had violated the rules which indicate that one cannot be a member of more than one tent and permission must be requested to be a guest performer at another tent. Dr Valda Henry has more on the matter.
