Social Services Minister, Catherine Daniel, is urging children to take their safety in their own hands as it relates to child abuse prevention.
Daniel, who was addressing the 2nd Child Abuse in Cricket Workshop this week, said the children must play their part. “... I call upon children to be responsible, and obey the rules and regulations. If anyone addresses you inappropriately, report it. Do not for any reason keep anything secret, that is intended to harm you, even if you are threatened against doing so. Also, you should stand up for each other; be one another’s keeper,” Daniel advised. This advice comes at a time when Dominicans are expressing concern over an increase in child abuse on the Island. The Workshop was hosted by the Child Abuse Prevention Unit, the Dominica Cricket Association and UNICEF.

How on earth can a vulnerable and damaged child 'play their lady's, when their lives and trust been wholly violated?
