The Thirtieth Meeting of the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) /Pooled Procurement Services (PPS) Policy Board and the Third Meeting of the Council of Ministers of Health of Member States kicked off today at the Fort young hotel under the theme “The OECS Health Sector: Fit for Purpose”.
The event will stretch out over the course of the next two days where special focus will be placed on HIV/AIDS/TB in an effort to eliminate these diseases from Member States.
OECS/PPS incoming Chairman, Health Minister Dr. Kenneth Darroux, states that the region has made great strides of progress in its health care delivery over the years, and went on to list some of the regions achievements including Cuba’s recent breakthrough in the eradication of the transmission of HIV from Mother to child.
