Tourism Director, Colin Piper says Discover Dominica Authority (DDA) will work to diversify the means of air travel into Dominica, by encouraging other airlines to increase their services here.
“What we are doing is looking at other options and avenues to removing the sole reliance LIAT, for air travel into Dominica” he stated. “We have WINAIR, and we have some others, but we also want to impress upon them, that there is an opportunity to increase their service into Dominica”. Piper emphasized that LIAT remains a key partner in Dominica’s tourism industry to date, because 70% of people who travel to Dominica by air, do so through the services of LIAT. He announced that increased scheduled flights to and from Dominica, will take effect on 1st June 2016, and will offer travellers a direct route to Dominica, and easy mobility to and from Barbados.
