Trade Minister says West Coast Water Project a milestone in efforts at providing reliable portable water
Trade Minister, Ian Douglas, has described the West Coast Water Project as a milestone in efforts to provide reliable portable water to citizens.
This project will support construction of 8 water storage tanks and the supply lines between Morne Rachette and Savanne Paille and is being funded by the World Bank at a cost of 38 million dollars.
Douglas says over the past years the residents of the west coast has struggled immensely in accessing portable water and this he says was further compounded during the passage of TS Erika in 2015.
Over 20 communities and 10,819 residents are expected to benefit from this project when completed.
