An increase in moisture levels ahead of the first approaching tropical wave is expected to result in cloudiness and showers across the region.
The Dominica Meteorological Service on Thursday 30th June 2016, issued an advisory stating “this westward moving tropical wave is expected to produce an increase in cloudiness, shower activity and possible isolated thunderstorms across the island chain by today Friday”. The advisory further stated that “Another tropical wave is expected to approach the area by Sunday night into Monday of next week, and persons in areas prone to flooding, landslides and falling rocks are advised to be vigilant”. Slight to moderate sea conditions are expected during the next 24 hours with waves peaking near 5.0 feet. A further increase is expected during the weekend.
