A trough system is expected to move eastward across the Lesser Antilles on today Monday into tomorrow Tuesday 29th November 2016. Conditions appear conducive for moderate to heavy shower and thunderstorm activity, along with occasional gusty winds that will affect Dominica throughout the period.
The Current model projects rainfall of approximately 3 to 4 inches (75 – 100 mm) with higher amounts especially in elevated areas. Moderate to rough seas are also expected in areas of showers and thunderstorms. As a result, persons in areas prone to flooding, landslides and falling rocks, are advised to be vigilant, and to exercise extreme caution, as flash flooding is possible from today Monday into Tuesday. The public is advised to keep informed on this system, by paying attention to further updates provided by the Meteorological service.
