The Dominica Meteorological Service has advised residents about two (2) tropical waves which are projected as likely to cause increased rainfall across the island, from Tuesday afternoon.
The advisory issued today Monday, indicates that a tropical wave located about 830 miles east of the lesser Antilles, is producing disorganized shower activity. The system is expected to move across the area by Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday, and persons in areas prone to flooding, landslides and falling rocks are advised to be vigilant, and to exercise extreme caution. Additionally, another Tropical wave located in the far eastern Atlantic is expected to develop into a tropical depression later today, while moving in a north westerly direction. Slight to moderate sea conditions are expected during the next 24 hours, with waves peaking near 5 ft.
