Two guilty pleas were made on Tuesday as the trial of criminal causes got underway at the High Court in Roseau. According to Court Reporter, Carlisle Jno Baptiste, Samoza John, pleaded guilty to indecent assault of an eight year old girl in 2010 with sentencing scheduled for April 29th 2016. Croy Timothy also pleaded guilty to unlawful sexual intercourse with a 15 year old girl between August 1st and 31st 2014. He will also be sentenced on April 29th 2016. Jno Baptiste has more details on Tuesday's proceedings. Meanwhile a bench warrant has been issued for the arrest of one male adult, facing charges of rape, indecent assault, abduction detention and attempted buggery. He was expected to stand trial in this session but after leaving the court on February 19th 2016, he left the state on LIAT flight 364 for St. Thomas. Over nine sexual matters and seven murder cases are expected to be heard during this session of the criminal court.
