Under the theme: “Food for Thought: Ensuring Sustainability through Food & Nutrition Security and Resilience in the Nature Isle” The University of the West Indies (UWI) Open Campus Dominica in collaboration with the AID Bank, hosts the Country Conference 2016 scheduled to take place on May 19 and 20, 2016. Agriculture was chosen as the topic, to raise awareness to the fact that should the significant reduction of agriculture in Dominica over the last 25 years continue, the food supply, health and economy will be compromised. Twenty-two (22) research-based papers on food & agriculture and sustainable development conducted in and about Dominica will be presented to the public over these two days making Dominica’s Conference one of the largest so far of all the Country Conferences of the UWI. Presenters include Historian Dr Lennox Honeychurch, Economist, and Trade and Sustainability Specialist Dr Eisenhower Douglas.
