UWP calls on Government to immediately terminate the untendered contract handed to foreign firm NSG5/4/2016 The Opposition United Workers Party (UWP) is calling on the Roosevelt Skerrit led DLP Administration, to immediately terminate the contract handed to NSG, for the replacement of the Roseau River West Bridge and associated works, and to subject the said works to Open Competitive Bidding, in accordance with the Public Procurement and Contract Administration Act 11 of 2012.
In press release issued earlier today, the UWP Stated that “in seeking to justify the handing over of this massive untendered contract to NSG, and to further pursue the bad governance path of “no law, no constitution”, the Prime Minister & Minister for Finance contends that the contract was awarded pursuant to the Emergency Contract Procedure of the PPCA Act” UWP’s Team Dominica believes “the Skerrit led DLP Administration flagrantly violated the Public Procurement and Contract Administration (PPCA) Act 11 of 2012, when it handed the firm NSG of Barbados, an eighteen million dollars ($18 million) contract to replace the Roseau West Bridge, construct river defence walls and dredging of the river bed, in the vicinity of the said bridge.”
