UWP Delegates conference re-elects Lennox Linton and Joshua Francis as Leader and Deputy Leader1/12/2016 United Workers Party (UWP) Delegates conference re-elected Lennox Linton and Joshua Francis as Leader and Deputy Leader.Political Leader Lennox Linton took the opportunity during his address to the delegates, on Sunday January 10, 2016, to reaffirm that there is no leadership struggle within the party.
He said “I want to say, especially for our colleagues in the media this afternoon, that there is no leadership struggle in the United Workers Party. The UWP has a duly elected leader who is not a dictator & has no intention of becoming a dictator”. He added that It is his wish that all ideas contend at all times, and all those who feel that they have leadership capabilities and capacities, and would like to offer themselves to lead the party in which the are members, they are free to do so at any time”. Mr Linton emphasized that there is “an abundance of leadership talent available just within our parliamentary group for leadership succession in the party whenever that need arises”. The delegates voted to keep the same executive from which is: Lennox Linton - Leader Joshua Francis - Deputy Leader Ronald Charles - President Vice President – Hector John Alex Birmingham - Treasurer Jefferson James - Assistant Treasurer Dianne Victor - General Secretary Andrea Kentish - Vice General Secretary Nicholas George - Public Relations Officer Dr Thomson Fontaine - International General Secretary
