United Workers Party's (UWP) leader, Dr. Thomson Fontaine, stated that April will soon be over and that despite DLP regime promises to the Dominican people that they would receive electoral reform legislation recommendations for discussion during this month, there has been no discussions or even any hints about it. He claims several bills were recently approved in parliament, but electoral reform—which is crucial to the country's governance and the people’s democracy —is the critical issue that is not being prioritized. He was speaking on the Workers Voice Program on Q95 last night. Dr. Fontaine stated that the Dominican people must continue to push for appropriate electoral and campaign finance reform legislation, which is what the United Workers Party (UWP) has emphasized, and that every Dominican should prioritize.
