UWP Leader Lennox Linton renews call for Government to make public all diplomatic appointments12/14/2016 Opposition Leader Lennox Linton is once again calling on the DLP Government to make public, the names of all current and former holders of Dominica's diplomatic passports, and all those who have diplomatic status on behalf of Dominica.
This request for this information to be made public was denied by the Foreign Affairs Minister during a recent meeting of Parliament, on the excuse that effective foreign policy is never practiced in the media. Linton's new request follows the arrest of Francesco Corallo in St. Maarten on Tuesday on the request of Italian authorities. It is reported that Italy will request extradition to face charges of tax evasion, bribery of politicians among other alleged offenses. Corallo, was sought by Dominica to be its permanent representative to the FAO in 2011, however approval for his appointment was never confirmed by the FAO. Linton speaking on Q95's Hot seat Wednesday said, "we ought to know who are the persons engaged in our diplomatic missions in the global community". He is concerned that Francesco Corallo may still be holding a Dominican diplomatic passport.
