UWP Senator Dr. Thompson Fontaine is calling on the electoral commission to clean up the voters list, in keeping with the Electoral laws of Dominica. In November of 2014 the Electoral Commission said some 72,484 voters were eligible to cast their ballots in the election. That number has since come under scrutiny by some who suggested that it did not reflect the number of people living in Dominica. Others say the list might be bloated. Dr. Thomson Fontaine has more: However, Prior to the General Election on December 8, 2014, the electoral commission released this statement, “The Commission wishes to assure the public that the status of the list is fully in keeping with the provisions of the law which governs the registration of electors, that is, the Registration of Electors Act, Chap. 2:03 (1990 Revised Laws of Dominica)”.
