Venezuelan Misión Milagro making 1st official visit this weekend to bring free eye care to Dominica12/2/2016 Misión Milagro is making its first official visit to Dominica this weekend, nearly one year after the agreements were signed by the Governments of Venezuela and Dominica, to bring the free eye care mission to Dominica. Misión Milagro or “Miracle Mission” is a Humanitarian project that began on July 8, 2004 led by the Governments of Cuba and Venezuela. It aims to help those with low incomes so that they can achieve adequate eye care for various eye problems. Speaking at a press conference on Friday, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Helen Royer, says the Miracle Mission team will arrive in Dominica tomorrow Saturday December 3, and will begin the first part of the initiative the following day – Sunday. According to Officer in Charge, Office of the Director of Primary Healthcare Services Dr. Lynora Drigo the mission will be conducted in local health centres across the island over the course of the week.
