Waitukubuli Dance Theatre Company says Miss Teen Pageant helps youth build self-confidence1/24/2017 Director of the Waitukubuli Dance Theatre Company Raymond Lawrence says the Miss Teen Pageant provides a platform for the young ladies to build self-confidence. Lawrence was speaking at the launch of the 40th Annual Miss Teen Dominica Pageant at the Arawak House of Culture last week. He says the Teen Pageant helps strengthen the visual and performing arts programs in schools. Meanwhile, Lawrence says the Miss Teen Pageant should not be viewed as a competition. This year’s contestants are Britney Toussaint of the Isaiah Thomas Secondary School; Selena Edwards of the Castle Bruce Secondary School; LaShaun Bellot of the Dominica Grammar School; Felicia Edwards of the Pierre Charles Secondary School; Ashanti Alleyne of Goodwill Secondary; Shyan Dewhurst of the Convent High School; and Ashley St Jean of the Portsmouth secondary school. The pageant will be held at the Pottersville Savannah on Sunday February 19, 2017 from 5pm.
