WHITCO awards to 2 college bound students, with Elkin Bernard Henry Memorial financial scholarships8/17/2016 Two college bound students will be financially equipped for their college career, as the WHITCO Development Institute awarded the Elkin Bernard Henry Memorial scholarship, to the top CXC Business students, from the St Mary’s Academy and Isaiah Thomas Secondary school.
Through these awards the directors hope to help build a cadre of young entrepreneurs who will contribute meaningfully to a culture of entrepreneurship in Dominica. The scholarships will be awarded annually to pursue an Associate’s Degree in Business studies or Entrepreneurship at the Dominica State College. According to a release “Each scholarship is worth $6000 to cover college tuition fees, books and other learning materials, transportation and incidentals. The recipients will be required to maintain a minimum GPA of 2.75 for the duration of the scholarship.” Scholarship awardees will be chosen by the schools annually beginning this September through to 2020, based on CSEC results, and administered by the WHITCO Development Institute.
