WHS celebrates its 90th Anniversary on October 16, 2016 under theme “90 years of Building a Legacy”10/4/2016 The Wesley High School celebrates its 90th Anniversary on October 16. The theme for this year’s celebrations is “90 years of Building a Legacy”.
Several activities are reportedly planned to mark this momentous occasion in the school’s history, including a Worship Service at the Bethesda Methodist Church at 10.15 am on Sunday, 16th October. A Special Assembly at 8.15 am on Monday 17th October, also at Bethesda Church. The guest speaker will be Reverend Ruth Pratt. It is also New Tie Day and Alumni and well-wishers of the school are encouraged to purchase a tie at the school, and wear it proudly on that day, or wear the blue and yellow colours of the school. The activities continue with an Anniversary and Awards Dinner at 7.30 pm on Saturday, 22nd October, at the Garraway Hotel. A lunch sale on ‘Creole Day’ and a movie called “Slow Fade”, by members of the Drama Club, and friends of the school, on 31st October. There will also be a Sports Day at Lindo Park, from 10.00 am, on 15th October. An Exhibition and Talent Show on 27th October, and House Assembly by Barrett, Gilbert and Errey House, on 4th, 11th, and 18th October respectfully. A Program on October 12, from 9.00 am to 10.30 am, we will look at Wesley High School then, now, and in the future. All alumni, parents, and well-wishers are invited to attend and participate, as WHS celebrate this milestone; 90 years of providing educational opportunities in Dominica.
