Women of child bearing age in Dominica have been advised against becoming pregnant, at least until the country proves to be Zika virus free.
The virus which is mainly spread by the Aedes Aegypti mosquito causes no or very mild symptoms in most people who catch it.
But last October, north-eastern Brazil reported an abrupt rise in the number of babies born with abnormally small heads, a condition known as Microcephaly.
