Works officially commence on Yorke Valley Bridge after months of disrepair post tropical storm Erika10/14/2016 After months of disrepair works have finally commenced on the Yorke Valley Bridge in the St Joseph area, which was extensively damaged during the passage of Tropical Storm Erika. That bridge is essential to farmers from nearby villages, as it grants access to many farms and communities in the area. At the ground breaking ceremony on Thursday, St Joseph MP Kelvar Darroux said he expects the project to be completed within one year, and thereby give better access to the Layou Valley and farms. Darroux said persons from the constituency will be engaged in the project, and he appealed to them to play their part and make the project their own. Earlier this week, MP Darroux announced that works had already commenced on the project. Public Works Minister Senator Mirium Blanchard says the designs of the bridge are in keeping with Government's mandate to building back better. Public Works Minister Senator Mirium Blanchard
