Works to rehabilitate several feeder roads will commence on Thursday June 23,2016.
The announcement was made by the Ministry of Agriculture on Wednesday. In May 2016, the National Authorizing Officer signed contracts amounting to $20 Million with four contracting firms to rehabilitate ten feeder roads under the Banana Accompanying measures. Over 5,000 farmers across the country are expected to benefit following the completion of this project which seeks to boost agricultural competitiveness and productivity and improve rural livelihoods. As a result, the Ministry of Agriculture has advised Farmers and members of the general public traversing these roads to exercise due caution during the construction phase and to adhere to the instructions and guidelines given by the contractors and crew on work sites. Some of the feeder roads to be rehabilitated include the Mero- Cuba Salisbury Feeder road, Syndicate feeder road, Mango Gutter Feeder road, Freyal/ Bois Denier Feeder road, Melville Hall and Colihaut Feeder roads.
